Ryan was born and raised in a small town in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Ryan was active in various ministry roles in his church growing up, a result of being the grandson of the pastor.
At the age of 12, Ryan erased the churches' computer completely--formatting the hard drive is the technical term. In the fear of certain death, Ryan learned how to repaid the damage he had done. Since then, he has been working with computers. At the age of 14, he purchased his first computer, and began making websites, mainly for his uncle.
After graduating High School, Ryan gave up his plans to pursue a computer science degree, and went into the ministry. In his junior year at Jackson College of Ministries, Ryan was hired full-time as the JCM "IT Guy." They really didn't have a better name for it.
After receiving his degree, Ryan returned to JCM as a faculty member and Marketing Director. He would fill this same role soon after at Texas Bible College in Lufkin, Texas, where he met his bride, Brittani Scott.
After five years of marriage, Ryan and Brittani moved to Seattle, Washington to plant the Refuge. To fund the planting of a new church, Ryan has been employed as Marketing Manager for a couple startups, and eventually settled in as the Head of Marketing for a platinum-level marketing agency.
Today, Ryan manages several ventures, including the PreacherCrate and the Edify Conference.
Now, if you read that entire story, I thank you for being interested in my life. It's not the most exciting, but it's not the most boring either. My wife and I are having a blast doing our best to fulfill God's calling on our lives.
