It’s a waste of money and, to be honest, it’s getting kind of ridiculously expensive too. Other people advertise on radio, put billboards up, go door-to-door or try to hang up fliers all over town. If they want to do it, that’s fine, but it’s not nearly as efficient, money-wise or time-wise.

The first one is the most effective strategy you can do to market anything. This is to grow your email list.
Start building your church email list for people who come and visit your services. Offering relevant and interesting content on your website will encourage people to opt in and volunteer to get promotions from you as well.
Picture this, if you have an email list of three hundred people, and you send out an invite for a revival next week, you have sent a personal invitation to three hundred people in a matter of minutes.
And, even better, it didn’t cost much of anything, and you even get to see how many people opened it or how many people clicked on it.
Make list building a priority starting right now. Trust me, it’s one of the more valuable assets your church will own.
2. Utilize Facebook Effectively
Facebook offers a great way of targeting your clients, and this makes it really effective in marketing your church. If you have an event coming up, make use of the “Facebook Events” feature.
Fill it out with the event details and start sending everyone an invite. If someone says they’re attending or decides to share it on their page, chances are, everyone who is connected to them will know of your event too. If the process goes on and on, then you have a higher chance of reaching a larger portion of the audience.
You can also use “Facebook Advertising” so you can tone and target an ad that is directly geared towards your town. So instead of spending $300 on a newspaper ad that you can’t track, spend it on Facebook advertising that allows you to find out how many people are targeted. The best thing about it is you only pay for the people that actually interact with your ad.
Take advantage of YouTube and Facebook videos too. Upload a video that talks about your event and puts it on Facebook.
Now, if you really want it to work efficiently, create or incorporate something in your video that catches people’s attention or peak some interest. In this way, individuals who are scrolling down on their Facebook homepage will get to see the video play, and if it captures their attention, they’ll turn the volume up and see what your video has to say.
