Building a Digital Marketing Team for Churches

One of the most effective and productive things that you can do this year is to promote your church better. We are going to talk about moving into the New Year to start marketing your church by building a digital marketing team. This can be one person or a group of people who are aimed at utilizing useful methods in marketing your church effectively. And to be successful at this, they should be doing seven important things.

Seven Duties of the Digital Evangelism Team

  1. Update your website

It is important to keep your website up-to-date and pleasing to the eyes. In this way, your interface will be more user-friendly and will encourage more browsing time and surfing for your audience.

  1. Create content

Having relevant and interesting content is vital for effective web marketing. You should generate videos, blog posts, eBooks and other creative content that will make a good standing in social media platforms.

  1. Manage Social Media Channels

These days, people are on different social media platforms, and you can utilize this by sharing quotes, photos and other content on Facebook, Twitter and more.

  1. Grow your email list

It is important to have your team focused on establishing a growing email list. This will increase the number of people you can connect to and deliver important updates and information about your church.

  1. Create Newsletters

People on your email list will be engaged in your advocacy if you have a continuous mode of contact. And that is by having regular newsletters sent out to them to make sure you have their attention hooked at what you’re trying to promote.

  1. Manage Online Advent Calendar

Keep your events on the website and Google Calendar so people can be informed about what’s going on or if you have any upcoming events in the future. You can also utilize the Facebook Events feature to instantly send an invite and a list of those who are coming to your event.

  1. Talk with the pastor

It is important to have the pastor and your team all on the same page. No matter how many times he brings up advertising in the paper, it’s their job to come up with great reasons why it’s a bad idea. (In as humble and respectful way as possible.) 🙂 Convince the pastor to invest in more useful, effective and up-to-date marketing strategies than spending a lot of money on newspapers and radio ads.

Those are the seven things that you should be doing in 2016. Go ahead and empower your digital marketing team to really take your church marketing strategy to the next level. Stay informed and tuned it to more interesting topics like this in the following weeks.
